Localized barrier verification.

RiTS applies drawdown directly above the barrier using a remotely operated downhole pump deployed on electric line. It is a different approach to barrier verification, without relying on a full fluid column to surface.

Localized

Test the barrier, not the well

The induced test volume is small and localized relative to full column testing. The objective is the integrity of the barrier, not the entire column above it.

Overbalanced

Hydrostatic overbalance maintained

Drawdown is applied in a contained test volume above the barrier. No full fluid column to surface is required during the test sequence.

Independent

Verification despite compromised tubulars

RiTS can verify a deep-set well barrier even when tubing or casing above the barrier lacks pressure integrity.

Applications

One system. Abandonment,
intervention and completions.

RiTS enables localized barrier verification and inflow testing across a range of well scenarios, including P&A, intervention and completion operations.

RiTS

RiTS barrier verification system

RiTS is an electric-line deployed barrier testing system designed to perform localized inflow testing close to a downhole barrier.

The system uses a remotely operated downhole pump to create a controlled drawdown directly above the barrier. This keeps the induced test volume small relative to conventional full column testing while maintaining hydrostatic overbalance.

RiTS is modular and can be integrated with a bridge plug or multi-set plug depending on the application. It can also be configured to install and inflow test a deep-set barrier plug in a single trip.

RiTS was co-developed by Well Set P&A and Interwell, with the RiTS intellectual property held by Well Set P&A.
